Identifies and brings errors in text to the attention of the editors concerned, such as wrongly spelled author’s names, inaccurate quotations, false sources, etc. Under the general supervision of the Chief of Section, and under the direct supervision of a team leader, the incumbent will undertake the following duties:Ĭontributes to the efficient and timely editing of publications by acquiring and collecting necessary materials in at least two of the six official languages, with which editors will work checks all the quotations, dates and titles.Īssists senior Editorial Assistants in conducting editorial research, searching and retrieving information from Internet, Intranet, DtSearch, UNTERM and other databases.
The Section is in charge of editing the Yearbook of the International Law Commission (ILC) in the six UN official languages. The Publications Editing and Proofreading Section consists of three teams of Editors/Proofreaders and one team of Editorial Assistants.
