More than a little decent of EVGA, if you ask me. So my two used and abused 680s got free upgrades to two new 770s.

When using MSI Afterburner/EVGA Precision 1, during regular desktop idle.

They even payed for shipping, including sending me a shipping label to send the second 680 back. EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti FTW3 GamingMSI GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Suprim X. Anyway, they replaced the bad card with a 770 FTW card (a modest upgrade) and when I told them the 680 had been used in SLI with another 680, they replaced the second 680 with another 770, no questions asked, even though the second 680 didn’t have anything wrong with it. Though granted, the cards were still covered under their basic warranties. These cards had been nearly fully loaded for a couple of years crunching for BOINC as well, so it’s understandable that some issues like this might have developed over time.

We were able to determine that it was an issue with the specific card itself, likely a voltage regulation issue as the drivers actually seemed to crash less frequently when the card was loaded. This new version of Precision is built for the latest NVIDIA graphics cards and combines the best of EVGA Precision and EVGA OC Scanner to give you never before seen overclocking features and built in automatic tuning.

This software allows you to fine tune your NVIDIA graphics card, maximizing cooling and performance. One example being: After I had already upgraded to two Titan Black SC cards in my main rig, I noticed that one of my two 680 FTW+ cards kept crashing the drivers in another build a friend and I were working on. Afterburner based on PrecisionX and RivaTuner because PrecisionX was released 1 year earlier than Afterburner. The next generation of EVGA Precision has arrived with EVGA Precision XOC. It’s still a little bit buggy, but usable, and has some GUI slowdown issues (at least last I’ve noticed – I haven’t put the newest version through all of the paces yet).Īlso, to be fair, I have my computer on crunching for BOINC projects (including several GPU tasks) nearly all the time, so some might not notice the issues with Precision X that I do.Īfterburner is of course a good option, but Precision X is getting better and is in my opinion at least a halfway decent choice as it is now.Īs for getting my graphics cards from EVGA, that isn’t going to change any time soon as EVGA has done an amazing job of taking care of me as a customer. speculation. It’s definitely had its ups and downs, especially downs after the falling-out between EVGA and Unwinder, but EVGA has been steadily improving it and now it has some nice features as well as actually working, for the most part. I'm guessing if they green light the Russian guy's Alpha then EVGA just buys a version from MSI? Then a company like powercolor buys a stripped down version once every 5 years or something? And Asus probably just makes their own but it isn't as good? Speculation. (I actually did about 5 reinstalls to try to see what it was that was getting installed that caused the issue and I'm pretty sure that was it.) The SLI AA mode turns one of your cards off regular SLI processing and has it only work on AA. Redoing everything without RTSS in the mix solved my problem, so far as I can tell, but maybe it was something else.
#MSI AFTERBURNER OR EVGA PRECISION X 2015 HOW TO#
Couldn't figure out how to fix it and my system is super stripped down so I just pulled the plug on the entire windows build.
#MSI AFTERBURNER OR EVGA PRECISION X 2015 DRIVER#
I couldn't get driver forced SLI anti-aliasing to work after installing RTSS when it came with precision X. I ended up reinstalling windows over my confusion with RTSS messing up my driver settings. You seem like you are not so noobie for a noobie- can you explain me what's the advantage to the 64-bit version? I switched to precisionx and everything seems groovy, but I was going to switch back when the new AB beta came out, now I lost track and seem fine with where I'm at.
